Calling it “a long overdue step to advance the peace process,” President Donald Trump signs a proclamation recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel in a ceremony Wednesday at the White House.

President Donald Trump on Wednesday formally recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, reversing nearly seven decades of U.S. foreign policy and setting in motion a plan to move the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to the contested Holy City.
