The Walton Arts Center and businesses on Dickson Street on Thursday are visible in Fayetteville. Northwest Arkansas’ arts and cultural nonproÿt organizations and events drew almost 2 million attendees who spent tens of millions of dollars in 2015, according to a new study from Americans for the Arts that measured the nonproÿts’ spending and their attendees’ spending on ancillary expenses like parking and food.

Northwest Arkansas arts and culture groups draw hundreds of thousands of visitors and pump tens of millions of dollars into the region's economy, a survey released last week found.

• Total attendance: 1.8 million
• Attendees from outside Benton and Washington counties: 451,000
• Spending by nonprofit groups: $67.5 million
• Spending by all attendees on food, parking, etc. (not including admission prices): $63.7 million
• Spending by attendees from outside Benton and Washington counties: $32.1 million
• Jobs supported by artistic and cultural nonprofit groups: 4,600 full-time equivalent
