MARION -- Texarkana defeated host Marion on Friday night at Patriot Stadium 23-14 to keep its season rolling.
Junior Irijah Price scored the game's first touchdown for Texarkana, outjumping the Marion defenders on a 26-yard touchdown pass from Sean Foreback. Price finished with 8 catches for 163 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The first quarter ended with the Razorbacks (6-5) leading Marion (5-6) 7-0
Jacob Green put the Patriots on the board with a 1-yard score with 8:07 remaining in the second quarter to tie the game at 7-7.
Taylor Brown electrified his home crowd with his 53-yard touchdown reception from Green with 5:14 left in the second quarter. Marion led the Razorbacks 14-7 at halftime.
The Razorbacks opened the second half on their own 42 but were unable to capitalize on the favorable field position.
After Texarkana's defense forced a three-and-out, Patrick Cook booted a 25-yard field goal to cut into the Patriots lead to 14-10 with 2:31 remaining in the third quarter.
Drake Browning threw a 64-yard touchdown pass to Price to give the Razorbacks the lead at the end of the third 17-14. Browning rushed for 30 yards on 5 carries and caught 1 pass for 4 yards.
DeJordan Mask collected his seventh interception of the season for the Texarkana defense. He also caught four passes for 39 yards.
After a Marion personal foul, the Razorbacks gained favorable field position and was able to put the ball in the hands of juniors Jordan Hall and Tyrie Black.
Hall finished with 17 carries for 53 yards with a score and Black collected 13 yards on 4 carries. The first score of the fourth quarter came from a 5-yard dive from Hall for a 23-14 lead.
Green was stripped by the Razorbacks' defense with 1:57 remaining to clinch the victory.
The Razorbacks will travel to Greenwood on Friday for a rematch with the top-ranked Bulldogs in the second round of the Class 6A playoffs. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
