The Razorback Cinema will soon have an IMAX theater at its Fayetteville location, theater owners said today.
Malco Theatres announced plans to open an IMAX on Dec. 15 in time for the release of "Star Wars: The Last Jedi," according to a press release.
An existing auditorium at Razorback Cinema will be retrofitted to IMAX standards, according to Adam Davis, vice president corporate communication for IMAX Corporation. The theater is expected to seat approximately 250 patrons.
IMAX theaters have larger screens and provide newer projection systems and digital audio.
The Memphis-based Malco Theatres is a fourth-generation family owned and operated business. Malco Theatres operates more than 350 screens at 34 locations across the mid-South.
