Push for public right

to know is overblown

The editors keep harping on the "public's right to know" in the [Fayetteville Superintendent Matthew] Wendt case. I think the woman who reported Dr. Wendt, who was eventually fired, is justified in trying to keep her name private.

First, the news people were aggravated the school board took time to give this matter due process. Now they think everyone is deprived because the victim wants to keep her name out of the papers. Wouldn't you, if you had been "taken advantage of?"

Note to news hounds: You might be more loved if you didn't push the Freedom of Information business so vigorously. Come to think of it, it may be unrealistic to hope you'll ever be loved, but stop it already. Get off this poor woman's case.
